Chris Roberts of Widerview Visual Media has been a professional photographer since 2002. Even before that he worked for Canon (UK) Ltd in their camera & video division in a technical capacity between 1985 – 1994, and was a keen amateur up to 2002.

From 2004 to 2014 he was an accredited motor racing photo journalist covering British Touring Car Championship, British GT, British F3 and some FIA GT European races at tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and Monza in Italy. When working for Canon (UK) Ltd he attended the LeMans 24 hours race in 1988. He worked with local media for drivers in the UK and The Netherlands and was published in Autosport magazine.

He has been photographing music gigs and performers since 2014 when he moved into South Warwickshire including festivals such as Stratford River Festival, South Town Blues festival (Leamington Spa), Upton Blues Festival, Shipston Proms, Old Bush Blues and the UK Blues, Rhythm and Rocks festivals in Blackpool, Leeds and Lincoln. He has also shot bands at iconic venues such as the 100 Club in Central London, Half Moon in Putney and the Cavern Club in his hometown of Liverpool.

He is also a writer and photographer for both Blues in Britain & Blues Matters magazines and have had gig & album reviews published in their magazines.

He has had gig reviews from both UK & Netherlands published in local media such as Cotswold Journal, Stratford Herald and Leamington Courier.

He mainly covers the Blues, Americana & Roots genres and concentrates on the younger performers under 45 and in particular those in their 20s & 30s, combining taking action shots of the performers along with writing notes for his reviews.

We have also covered a wide range of commissions including ITSMF UK Conference (Sofitel Heathrow) a IT Service Management Conference, The Richard Harvey Collection for its furniture ranges, itSMF UK meeting at University of Northampton: People & Skills, Shipston Proms (a 2+ week music festival) for 2015,16,19 and 2022-25, Lifting Technology Office shoot, engineering company CALGAVIN in Alcester with exhibition and conference photos along with R&D videos, University of Birmingham Chemical Engineering Department, Stratford River Festival, Coach & Bus Live: NEC, Kenilworth & Moreton-in-Marsh Agricultural shows and Cotswolds Olimpicks (with its 400+ years of history).
